I guess I'll kick off my first blog entry on the beloved topic of multithreading. I've finally incorporated a switch in the user interface to let the player enable two threads: a graphics thread and a thread that handles world updates and audio. It might show some benefits on dual-core machines, although I have no such machine to test it. Fortunately the test group has a few dual-core machines. Two threads seems to run just as well as one thread on my faster machine, although it seems to cause some slight stuttering on my slower machine.
