Map Grid:

I think it would be cool for if you have a sky view there can be a faded grid over the hole map, with letters down the side and numbers across the top. When your cursor is on a block of the grid it tells you what block it is in the corner or something. The blocks height and width would be (height of the map/26) and width would be probably the same as height.

Also when you are in the ship mode or what ever you can have it say near your map or radar what block you are in.

I think it would be pretty handy online to say there is enemies in grid D,7 or something. Also you you are in command of a unit/units you could also put the block that they are in, either the block that the majority is in or each each unit block that it's in.

Custom Texture Res:

This one I just thought about in class for upping the res in Battlezone 2 and then i remembered the screen shot post recently and I though it would be cool to have an option in the graphics that allows you to set the res of textures to what ever you want instead of just texture detail, low, medium, high. Of course there is a limit to how high the game engine will allow you to do but for people with better machines they can pick what res they want the textures to be rendered in. I know this is a bit more complicated then the grid but its just an idea, not necessary.
