Yeah PR and showboating are not our strong suit at the moment. We should work on improving that. I see some budding indie developers making weak 2D games, but get lots of attention and feedback by putting an attitude out there. One example is at:

Teams like this are documenting their progress and meetings on video, and are reaching out to prospective future customers in other ways. I would not necessarily conduct myself as they do, but it's still worthwhile to evaluate their methods and see what's working for them.
I would feel much better if there was a larger crowd visiting our forums and showing anticipation. I would not want to resort to cheap methods of drawing attention though.
