Moving on to the Newton Physics System

I've soured a bit on the Opcode collision detection system. I learned that it doesn't support scaling of meshes directly, meaning I would have to do some work to fix that. There are other issues of concern as well. I'll probably use the Newton Physics system just for direct collision detection of two objects, since I think I have the physics and spacial partitioning pretty well under control. Newton provides interesting options such as convex hulls, which may be most efficient for moving vehicles. It has a good following and fairly active forum too. A week or so of part time effort was lost setting up and integrating Opcode, but that's bound to happen once and awhile.

Word of advice with working with Newton, destroying and recreating physics bodies is not as costly as you would think, you would be surprised at how often that comes up in using it.
